Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about PodiumFPL and FPL league analytics.
General
What is PodiumFPL?+
PodiumFPL is a free analytics platform for FPL (Fantasy Premier League) mini-leagues. We automatically generate beautiful charts, AI-powered commentary, financial tracking, and payment management — delivered as a shareable link after every gameweek.
Is PodiumFPL free?+
Yes. Connect your league and get automated weekly reports with charts and AI commentary at no cost. Premium features with deeper analytics are coming soon.
Do I need to be a league admin to use PodiumFPL?+
No. Anyone in the league can join and use PodiumFPL. The first person to connect the league becomes the admin (managing payments and settings), but all league members can view reports, charts, and commentary through the shareable link — no login needed.
How do I connect my FPL league?+
Sign up, enter your FPL Classic League ID (found on the Fantasy Premier League website), confirm your managers, pick your league format, and you're done. Takes about 60 seconds.
Does this work for any FPL mini-league?+
Yes — any FPL Classic League with any number of managers, anywhere in the world. Whether you're 8 friends in London or 50 colleagues in Lagos, PodiumFPL works for you.
League Formats
What is a Weekly Money League?+
Every gameweek, each manager pays a fixed amount (e.g. $5, KES 200, £3 — you choose). The money goes into a weekly prize pool that gets split among the top finishers. Think of it like a weekly bet with your friends — whoever scores the most FPL points that week wins the pot.
How does the weekly prize split work?+
By default, the top 3 split the weekly pot: 1st gets 50%, 2nd gets 30%, 3rd gets 20%. You can also choose winner-takes-all. Example: 20 managers × $5/week = $100 pool → 1st wins $50, 2nd wins $30, 3rd wins $20.
What is the Season Pool?+
A percentage of each weekly payment (default 10%) is set aside for a bigger season prize. This pool accumulates over the season and is paid out at mid-season (after GW19) and end-of-season (after GW38). It rewards consistency, not just one lucky gameweek.
What is a Seasonal League?+
A one-time entry fee at the start of the season (e.g. £25, $30). The entire pot goes to season prizes — no weekly payouts. Simpler to manage, but less weekly excitement.
What is a Casual League?+
No money involved. You still get all the charts, AI commentary, and analytics — just no financial tracking or prizes. Perfect for office leagues or groups who play for bragging rights.
Can I change the currency and fee amount?+
Absolutely. We support KES, USD, GBP, EUR, NGN, ZAR, and more. Set any amount you want — $2/week, KES 1000/week, £10/week. It's your league, your rules.
Transfer DQ Rules
What are Transfer DQ rules?+
DQ stands for “disqualification” — but only from that week's prize, not from the league. If a manager makes too many transfers or takes too many hit points in a single gameweek, they're excluded from winning the weekly prize. They still play, they still earn points, they just can't win money that week.
Why have Transfer DQ rules?+
It keeps things fair. Without limits, a manager could make 10 transfers, take a -20 point hit, and still win the weekly prize if they get lucky. DQ rules reward smart, disciplined FPL management — not just throwing money at transfers.
What are the default limits?+
Maximum 5 transfers and maximum 4 hit points per gameweek. If you exceed either, you're DQ'd from that week's prize. You can customize these numbers or turn DQ off entirely.
What happens if I get DQ'd?+
You still pay the weekly fee and earn your FPL points normally. You just can't win the weekly prize that gameweek. Your season standings and season pool eligibility are unaffected.
Charts & Analytics
What charts does PodiumFPL generate?+
Every gameweek report includes: Gameweek Points, League Standings (with rank and gap from leader), Hit Tax (points burned on transfers), Bench Graveyard (points wasted on the bench), What If Rankings (if bench + hits were refunded), Transfer Efficiency (points per transfer), Captain Picks, Chip Impact, Transfer Scatter (bubble chart), and for money leagues: Gross Income Breakdown, Net Earnings, Podium Count, Rank vs Cash, and Payment Status.
What is the Hit Tax chart?+
It shows how many points each manager has lost to transfer hits across the entire season — and how many transfers they made to lose them. The manager burning 132 points on 64 transfers is playing a very different game than the one who's taken just 4 points in hits all season.
What is the Bench Graveyard?+
Points your bench players scored that you didn't get credit for. If you benched a player who scored 15 points, those 15 points are “rotting in the graveyard.” It shows who's the worst at picking their starting XI.
What is the Rank vs Cash chart?+
It compares your league position (by FPL points) with your cash position (by prize money won). If you're 18th in the league but 3rd in earnings, you're punching above your weight financially — winning weekly prizes despite a low overall rank.
What is the AI Commentary?+
After every gameweek, our AI writes a detailed match report for your league — covering the week's winner, captain choices, chip plays, risers and fallers, and the title race. It reads like a sports column, not a spreadsheet. Names names, cites specific numbers, and delivers banter.
Payment Tracking
How does payment tracking work?+
The league admin marks who has paid and for how many gameweeks. If someone pre-pays 8 gameweeks, they're covered for the next 8 weeks. The system tracks who's current, who's behind, and who's defaulting — no more manual WhatsApp lists.
Can managers pre-pay for multiple gameweeks?+
Yes. If someone sends you money for 8 weeks upfront, tap their name and set “Paid through GW38” (or however far ahead). They won't show as owing until their credit runs out.
Can I share the payment status with my league?+
Yes. The payment dashboard has a “Copy Status” button that generates a text summary you can paste straight into WhatsApp. Payment status also appears as a chart in the weekly report — so everyone can see who hasn't paid.
Reports & Sharing
How do I share reports with my league?+
Every report has a unique shareable link. Copy it and drop it in your WhatsApp group, Telegram, Discord, or wherever your league lives. No login needed to view.
When are reports generated?+
Automatically, the next day after the last match of the gameweek. The report includes final points, bonus points, and updated standings.
Technical
Is my FPL data safe?+
We only read publicly available data from the official FPL API — the same data anyone can see on the Fantasy Premier League website. We don't access your FPL password, email, or personal account.
Does PodiumFPL work on mobile?+
Yes. The entire platform — reports, charts, payment tracker, dashboard — is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Can I use PodiumFPL if my league started mid-season?+
Yes. We can pull historical data for all gameweeks, even for managers who joined your league mid-season. Financial tracking adjusts automatically — a manager who joined at GW10 only owes from GW10 onward.
